He nurtures and aids the growth of his thanes and subjects showing his loyalty and dedication to making Scotland great again opposed to Macbeth who exploited the country to further his own power.Malcom’s exploitation of the natural imagery exposes that he is the rightful King as he nurtures and nourishes his subjects, caring more about making the country great rather than himself.Additionally, Malcom echoes the lexis previously used by his father, ‘I have begun to plant thee … make thee full of growing’, illustrating that the rightful heir to the throne has been restored and to expose that he extols the same This links to the Divine Right of Kings and how the King would have been personally appointed by God.Therefore, Malcom would have been presented as an ideal King who embraces noble and positive facets of character to further support the idea that he had been placed on the throne by God.
