WGU D093 TEACHING Assessing Impact on Student Learning TASK 2 Western Governors University A.

1.The area where the students show the most strength is in the Key/Signal Words section of the pre-assessment. The data supports this as it shows 75% mastery.

2.The area where the students show the most weakness is in the Solution section, specifically with the constructed response and fill in the blank questions. The data supports this as it shows only 20% mastery on the constructed response question and 25% mastery on the fill in the blank question.B.Instead of having the students just watch a movie for the ‘Anticipatory Set’, I would add a teacher led class discussion. In this discussion, I would prompt the students with a question and let them work together as a group to form a constructed response. I would call on students that weren’t participating to make sure all can contribute to the responses. This would help make sure everyone understood what is expected in a constructed response. In this same discussion, we would also practice some fill in the blank questions since the students seemed to struggle with that almost as equally.C.

1.When comparing the results from the informal assessment to the pre- assessment, an area of strength remains in the ‘Key/Signal words’ section. This is supported in the data because it shows 85% of the class was proficient in this area.

2.Much like the strength, the weakness remained the same for the class on the informal assessment as it was on the pre-assessment. In the ‘Solution’ section, the data shows only 55% of the class was proficient in this area.D.•Looking at the results from the Informal assessment, I can see the class, as a whole, showed improvement in all sections. In the ‘Key/Signal Words’ section the class showed 10% growth, in the ‘Problem’ section the class showed an impressive 45% growth and in the ‘Solution’ section the class showed 35% growth.•One student who showed a great amount of growth was Student 17.
