Partial thickness burn appearance:
Red, Blanches with pressure, pain and mild swelling, no blisters 1 / 2
Partial thickness burn possible cause:
Superficial sunburn, quick heat flash
Partial thickness burn structure involved:
Superficial epidermal damage with hyperemia. Pain and sensation intact.
Deep partial thickness burn appearance:
Fluid filled vesicles that are red,shiny,wet. Severe pain with nerve injury.Mild to moderate edema.
Deep partial thickness burn possible cause:
Flame, flash, scald, contact burns, chemical, tar, electric current.
Deep partial thickness possible structure involved:
Epidermis and dermis involved to varying depths. Epithelial regeneration areas remain viable.
Full thickness burn appearance:
Dry, waxy, leathery, or hard skin. Visible thromboses vessels. Insensitive to pain. May involve muscle, bone or tendon.
Full thickness possible cause:
Flame, scald, chemical, tar, electric current.
